Our Philosophy
Pharmaceuticals vs. Brain Training
At kSero, we critically review the latest brain research for use in our interdisciplinary, customized programs to improve our clients’ brain functioning. We advise and train clients of all ages without the use of pharmaceuticals because evidence continues to mount about their inherent risks and insufficient effectiveness.

The Benefits of Exercise On Brain Development
Our programs can include at least twenty minutes of vigorous exercise daily. Increasing the heart rate during exercise stimulates the production of growth hormones and stem cells. As one gets older, this becomes increasingly critical to offset the effects of aging.

Excessive Exposure to TV and Video Games
We strongly urge clients, and particularly children, to reduce their exposure to rapid electronic stimulation, such as TV and video games. Recent studies show an increased risk for attentional problems from watching any television early in life. While research shows some benefit for video games, they should be monitored carefully and not relied on at the expense of socializing and more complex board and card games.

Do some Parenting styles trigger the ADHD label?
We train parents in how to provide an environment that is beneficial for them and their children, and reduce the tension and frustration over school performance and the homework hour(s). We encourage parents to reflect on their values and the behaviors they find desirable or undesirable. In some cases, we will recommend a series of workshops for parents.
